PoliPoli challenges, the world where the smartphone generation participates in politics. Change politics from community to citizen

When new technology is talked about, it is a problem that can not be separated even if regulation is cut off. It is often said that there are existing regulations for UBER and private residence, and introduction is not advanced as compared with foreign countries. It is also said that the cause of this is weak ability to talk about technology in politics.

It is a story that is often told, as youth 's political participation rate is falling. For example, in the 2017 House of Representatives' vote in the 20s is 34% against the average 54% (by the way, the highest is 72% of the 60s). Generally, it is young people to adopt technology early, and given the fact that there are few young people in the first place due to the declining birthrate, the existence of technology in politics is very low.

Polypoly is a service that might open up the wind in such political situation. Polypoly is a startup that creates a token economy involving citizens and politicians. I talked to Representative Director Mr. Itoh Kazumasa.

※ Company name is PoliPoli (Polypoly), service name is Poly poly.

PoliPoli Co., Ltd.
Representative Director Ito Kazuma (Ito Kazuma)

19 years old born in 1998. I am studying at Keio University. F Ventures As an associate in Tokyo, after establishing the programming community GeekSalon, he founded PoliPoli with his friends. He is also an iOS engineer, and he created self-taught iPhone haiku app "TEFFUFU" while being inexperienced. The same application in the summer of 2018 Mainichi ShimbunBusiness divestiture.

If you say "good things" you get a token

PoliPoli is a startup of PoliTech (Politics × Technology) which sets politics × technology. According to Mr. Ito, simply expressing PolyPol is "a politician and a citizen can say good things, you can get a token called" Polin "(※)".

(*) It is like a point issued independently using a block chain.

When citizens say "good things" about politics, they can get tokens and PoliPoli scores (indicators of confidence in polypoly) go up as described below. Politicians can take tokens as well and make use of it in political activities.

The difference between the information that appears in Polypoly and the information of mass media is that the polypoly information is accurate in primary information. Mass media can not transmit only a part of the remarks due to its nature, popular politicians get more remarks, scandal coverage increases. However, if you communicate information with existing SNS, the place is likely to be rough due to anonymity and it is difficult to make a constructive debate.

So Polypolis is trying to create a platform that can politically debate by using block chains and virtual currencies to prepare each incentive to create a rude place.

First of all I would like to see Polypol from the standpoint of citizen (user).

Citizens can make political discussions with real names (although they can participate even by anonymity, but they will need to be certified with real names when registering in the official version) within Polypol. In terms of political discussion, I will imagine the difficult subjects such as "international issues" and "social tasks", but discussions on familiar issues such as "narrow roads" and "want to make nursery schools" can be good. Citizens who gained empathy through discussions would like to comment! You get a token, eventually "PoliPoli score" goes up.

The PoliPoli score is the evaluation criteria of the user, and it is composed of "a good number to your article", "distribution token to politicians", "holding token". In the future polypoly tokens may be able to buy and sell, but if you do not have a holding token the PoliPoli score will not rise, so the user will have an incentive to keep tokens.

Since politicians can use tokens for election consultation and flyer printing as described later, there is an easy-to-understand incentive to use polypoly. However, Polypoly treats politics in a small difficult field, unlike other SNSs, it is not something to use casually. Therefore, it creates an easy-to-understand system called "trust point" and prepares users' incentives.

The PoliPoli score also helps to prevent field roughness. Because of its nature, politics has diverse opinions and the community often becomes rough. So Polypoli needs real name authentication when registering, gives users incentive to continue using polypoly by setting PoliPoli score, prepares a place where constructive discussion can be done even in difficult fields of politics It is.

Politicians have obvious benefits that tokens can be used for political activities, but citizens are not necessarily so. So in addition to tokens, we made the advantage of PoliPoli score. Besides that, if you could get the benefits like 'discount if you go to the election', it might be a catalyst for you to use polypoly. I would like to cooperate with companies and managers who are interested in politics and add benefits to CSR as well. (Mr. Ito, the same below)

Citizens also have a system called "Pro users". This is about the top 5% of the citizens, Pro users have benefits such as making a talk room and getting a token. Pro users have political knowledge and have many tokens so incentives work to make the community healthier beyond normal citizens.

Citizens can also use the obtained tokens as political figures to politicians who cheer them (images of traditional personal donation). Politicians are communicating information, and if they want to cheer for specific politicians they can easily respond with tokens (personal authentication etc is necessary).

Politicians will be able to conduct election activities using data

I would like to see Polypol from the viewpoint of politicians.

The advantage that politicians use polypori is mainly "money" "vote" "data". Like citizens, politicians also discuss politics. If you can communicate your ideas to the citizens by deepening the discussion, supporters like SNS followers will increase. Politicians as well as citizens can obtain tokens if posts have a "nice". The token can also be used for paying for polypoli-affiliated services (questionnaire surveys, pamphlet printing etc), so it can be "money".

And interesting is "data". As mentioned above, citizens can toss politicians a token, but at this time they do personal certification in Poly poly, so we get accurate data such as how much demographics people have told us it can. With this data you can capture the opinion of "citizens with arbitrary attributes in any region". In other words, it will enable detailed marketing activities.

For example, the current public opinion survey is often carried out by telephone, but young people who do not like phone calls may not take a phone in the first place, and segmentation such as "specific areas" was also difficult. However, if Polypoly prepares an incentive to get a token if answering a questionnaire, it may become possible to conduct a public opinion survey differently than before.

Business model of PoliPoli

As PoliPoli's monetization is mainly concerned with the currency issuance profit at the token economy, raising the value of tokens is also an important issue for PoliPoli.

Just from the point of view of citizens and politicians, business models and monetization are extremely complicated. It is a difficult field of politics, and it is also caused by many stakeholders. That's why Polypoli should only be understood by citizens and politicians getting a token if they say something good. In the first place, business models and monetization etc. are not directly related to users, they are easy to understand simple.

Revolutionary if you can politely

At the time of the interview, members of PoliPoli are college students and their age is mainly 19 to 20 years old. It is hard to say that he never touched politics for many years. Why did Mr. Ito representative began to start up in the field of politics?

Originally I was working at VC. Especially I did not like politics, but as I was watching a variety of cool service, there were lots of tasks when I looked at politics, and there were many things I did not understand well from the viewpoint of their generation. But the market is big and there are many related people. I felt it would be better if I adopted technology.

Mr. Ito who decided to start a business in the field of politics first said that it was a business model as well. When politics is said to be politicized from the citizen side, it is difficult to monetize, so that the center of monetization will be from political parties and politicians, but in the past major corporations also entered this market but withdrew.

Block chain technology including virtual currency (virtual currency) was increasing momentum at the same time. Community service using block chain also appeared little by little at home and abroad. For example,SteemitIs becoming a topic in the block chain neighborhood because users get monetization by obtaining tokens by writing articles or doing wrong things.

Politics is a part of money with some people, discussions are exciting in the field, compatibility with tokens and communities is good. Ito said that he thought that monetizing with the community might match politics as well.

Other members of PoliPoli also do not like politics but many feel that they feel the issue. That's why I heard the stories of Poly poly and are excited about "it is revolutionary if we can create politically good places." Nonetheless, as we are doing business, we are trying to keep the needs of everyone, not only members of PoliPoli but also citizens and politicians alive.

Creating polypoly while collaborating with users

Polypoli has no distribution of tokens in July 2018beta versionWe plan to launch a token (plan to distribute tokens within the year), initially to gradually form a political community, we are assuming that it will be used for local elections in various regions and famous politicians. Especially because politicians are more likely to be interested before the elections, they need to appeal to the local politicians before the local elections. As Fukuoka mayoral election in November 2018, unified election in the House of Councilors and rural areas in 2019, this is likely to be the next mountain.

Apps from PoliPoli

In addition, in addition to implementation of token distribution etc. in Polypol, it seems that they are plans to transmit politicians' videos and an online salon. Recently, tablets are often installed in Congress, and it is conceivable that Congress accepts questions and introduces talk rooms for each Congress by introducing Poly-poly there. It could be thought of attaching the minutes and making it useful for discussion.

First of all, I'd like you to use Beta versions of Poly Poly more and more. Although saying the beta version, the app is putting out considerably early. Because Polypoly is a co-creative service, I want more feedback. From there I want to improve the service more and more.

In Japan, most industries are told that "the introduction of technology is delayed" and politics will probably not leak out. Internet elections are still in the middle of the road, and situations such as the expulsion of Internet media from the political interview are also occurring, so there are not many good politics information on the net.

PoliPoli, who wants to "revolutionize the world", "entertain politics", expects a future that will solve these problems.
