Outsourcing brand items and selling & purchasing

RECLO (Rikuro) is a luxury brand distribution platform that can consign and sell apparel items, bags, jewelry and watches etc. The service name is "ReCloIt means "set".

Currently RECLO handles about 1000 brands, including high brands like those in department stores. The item bought by RECLO is RECLO.jp (the name of the site is also "RECLO", but the site is described as "RECLO.jp" in order to distinguish between RECLO as service and RECLO as site), or another company It is sold at a partner site.

Why did Active Sonar work on a project called RECLO? That was due to Mr. Aoki's experience.

Originally I was engaged in another business, but I was thinking about new business around 2014. It was the time when frimmer apps such as frills and Mercary appeared. So I tried to use a certain Furima application for trial and bought a brand item.

Although it was high shopping, it was circulated with newspaper and sent to me, but I was disappointed, and on the contrary the item was fake.

I also consulted with the platform side, but since it is CtoC, I want you to solve between individuals. Certainly it does not matter with the legal matter, but as individuals it will still make you feel uncomfortable. This may be okay, but there was one point I wanted to solve elsewhere as a user. I thought about making a service that would solve those problems there. (Aoki, hereinafter the same)

 

In addition to the expensive item being a fake, I felt it difficult to communicate with my teenage girl while I was working and taking time and effort. "I did not feel like I could be absorbed as a user." Mr. Aoki who thought "I want to make a service that I can immerse at least" was RECLO. It is a concierge-type web reuse service that takes care of everything that users feel troublesome, such as genuineness judgment and communication.

In ordinary CtoC, there are many surprisingly many tasks that you have to do on your own, such as "shooting" "pricing" "exhibition" "correspondence to inquiries" "packaging" "delivery" "review" It will not be.

On the other hand, the business model of RECLO is a consigned sales model of CtoBtoC (also available for purchase). Because we collect the baggage up to the house when asking for pick up, the listing procedure is over by simply handing over the item. RECLO side takes over all the troubles such as appraisal, pricing, photography, exhibition, sale, delivery and so on. The concierge type is a good service. Of course it will take more trouble, the commission will be higher than the service of CtoC.

Nonetheless, it seems that this fee is not high if you consider getting it offline. In the first place, there is a pawnbroker, recycle shop, etc. as a mechanism to get their items purchased. However, the purchase price at RECLO exceeds them.

Until now I did not know how much it would be sold even if it was bought by a pawnbroker etc. The asymmetry of that information was also their rice seed. However, with the advent of CtoC, black boxes were made visible. So, we carefully explain the contents of the box, such as purchase / selling price, and we try to deal with customers after being satisfied.

Well RECLO seems to be a business like batting with existing C2C, but it seems not to be the case. It has different user layers.

As mentioned above, CtoC's services must be done on their own in everything. It would be better to have a business / marketing sense to make my product attractive, and I need time to spare. In other words, it is important to be able to enjoy experiences like pseudo shop clerks.

On the other hand, users of RECLO are more age group compared to CtoC service, and there are many who are busy with work although there is something they want to sell to a certain extent with wealth. Therefore, there seems to be occasionally using time-saving services such as housekeeping substitution. Such people do not have any time and incentive to do themselves by themselves, rather they will be better off doing anything on consignment sales.

One characteristic of RECLO's business is that it is promoting business development while collaborating with various companies both in Japan and abroad. Active sonar is an "open innovation scheme".

For example, Active Sonar Co., which operates RECLO, has a capital and business alliance with Mitsukoshi Isetan Group. This aim is to encourage customers of Isetan Mitsukoshi to repeat. Once RECLO purchases items from customers, the customer uses it as a resource and buys a new product at Isetan Mitsukoshi. If this scheme goes well, RECLO will naturally lead to trading, and Mitsukoshi Isetan can also buy new products. Isetan Mitsukoshi and RECLO 's customer base are close, and both companies' agreement matched.

Also it seems important that not only business tie-ups but also investments are set.

Of course, even if there is no investment, this scheme should be able to be executed. However, as a practical matter, even if it is said that a legacy department store wants us to promote business as a startup like us, we also have pride and it was a pain to my previous position that it is difficult to cross-divisional efforts . However, I was thinking that by doing investment in the group, becoming a relativeship as a company-wide intention, it will become better for each department.

In addition to the apparel industry as a department store, RECLO is also working with other industries. For example, it is an effort with Seven & i Holdings. The company has an online mall called omini Mall at the same time as department stores such as convenience stores, Sogo and Seibu, and there is a form in which RECLO will be opened there. It will be deployed as a reuse service of Seven & Eye to the last, here RECLO buys items unnecessary from the user and returns it to points such as nanaco. Then it leads to sales of nanaco stores. Originally it has come to the site of Seven & Eye, customers are attaching to Seven & Eye. Customers can buy second hand goods as Seven & Eye services and nanaco points also accumulate. In other words, RECLO goes to the other side, so to speak, it is providing second-hand business as OEM.

Is it originally troublesome to list reuse items? It is packed in a box and it has a store of roadside, and it is only several hundred yen. So it is just right to exhibit them one after another. So those who go to Isetan Mitsukoshi will sell at Mitsukoshi Isetan at the same time and those using Seven & Eye will sell more easily with Seven & Eye.

Of course, we are branding RECLO.jp on a long-term basis, but there are cases where it is better to have RECLO behind depending on the situation. In such a case, we are working on a scheme like RECLO is responsible for the partner side and front side partner without being greedy.

In the future RECLO plans to promote collaboration with retailers, ECs, companies with points, etc. to spread their own economic sphere. Until now, there were many partnerships with companies related to fashion, but we plan to partner with real estate companies in the future, for example, plan to proceed with purchasing at the timing of moving things such as moving.

Well, so far, we have talked about cases where users sell = RECLO selling, but what sort of cases does RECLO sell = what users purchase?

Of course RECLO.jp also sells, and it sells in 18 countries and 200 countries, both domestic and overseas, which RECLO built. Especially since the high brand is a global commodity, it is easy to sell anywhere in the world. On the contrary, we are also understanding the tendency that the fancy goods are easier to buy in China than in Japan. Where we use such data is also different from traditional antique dealers.

RECLO has partnered with ECs around the world, mainly in Asia. Sometimes it is a mall's shop seller, and depending on the EC, a special corner will be made and items of RECLO may be posted. This is due largely to the "height of appraisal ability" of Japan. As mentioned earlier, Cto (Bto) C sometimes mixes high-brand counterfeit goods, but since products in "Checked in Japan" appraised in Japan are extremely few and highly reliable.

 

Finally, I asked about future development of RECLO.

Of course we are considering increasing categories such as kimonos and furniture that can not be purchased now. You can buy anything, because the user experience is better.

And data utilization. Various marketing data has gathered by partnering with various people to buy and sell items. For example, I know that those who sold white shoes will also buy white shoes. Then it will be effective if you send an e-mail magazine of white shoes at an appropriate timing. I think that we will make future value with data.

In the long run, it is a global expansion. I hope to be able to do something like RECLO's clone model in the world, buying it in China and selling it in Russia. I think it would be pretty beautiful if I could do appreciation through things.
